The public status record comes from the UDC Offender Search. The Utah Board hearing and decision search supplies release authority, while VINELink can report a custody event or deliver an alert. None replaces the others. Compare the UDC field, Board order, and reported event, then use direct agency confirmation when they do not agree.

USCF Daggett Release Role

Utah State Correctional Facility is an operating UDC prison outside Daggett County. It serves commitments from across Utah. A person sentenced to state prison in a Daggett criminal case enters UDC authority even if the person is housed for a time in another state facility or a contracted county jail. The closed former Daggett jail does not process that prison release.

UDC says almost everyone released from prison is processed at USCF, including most people who had been housed at Central Utah Correctional Facility or in county contract beds. Direct release from a county jail is extremely rare, and UDC states that family will be notified if it applies. The place of conviction, housing location, and physical release site can therefore be three different places. Follow the UDC record, not the county name alone.

Search USCF Release Records

The UDC Offender Search accepts a UDC number or a name. A name search requires at least one letter in both the first and last name, with a middle name optional. The scope is crucial: it covers people currently incarcerated by UDC or on UDC probation or parole. It does not cover an unsentenced county detainee, and it is not a permanent archive for everyone once supervision ends.

1. Use the UDC number when known, or enter the first and last name with a documented middle name.
2. Compare the date of birth and offender number before opening a same-name result.
3. Read location, housing facility, and “Release Date/Type” exactly as the system labels them.
4. Open the Board decision search to compare any authorized parole or release order.
5. Use VINE or direct agency confirmation for the status event, especially if the sources conflict.

A result showing parole means the person has left prison confinement but remains under UDC supervision. Probation is a court-ordered community status and is not itself a prison release type. A person fully discharged from UDC may disappear from the current-supervision search. In that case, Board decisions, the Daggett court record, and a UDC records request can outlast the public profile.

USCF Release Day Process

The UDC release-day instructions state that releases and paroles are processed on Tuesdays. Pickup parties report to the Release building at USCF. UDC warns that the process can take one to four hours, so a displayed date does not give an exact exit minute. No more than two pickup people and one vehicle are allowed. Children under eighteen and pets are not permitted, except service animals.

UDC also publishes clothing instructions and asks pickup parties to check in. These are state release-day rules, not policies of the former Daggett County Jail. A person may be processed at USCF after having been housed at CUCF or a county contract facility. The releasing site should therefore be verified through UDC instructions and the current case record rather than inferred from the latest housing line.

Leaving USCF After Release

Pickup and destination are part of release planning. UDC says a team member or volunteer may take a person without a ride to a nearby UTA TRAX station on a case-by-case basis. People without rides release last. This is not a guaranteed county-specific ride to Daggett County, and no official Daggett passenger service from USCF was identified in the research.

A parole may instead lead to a community correctional center. UDC transports the person to that setting, which remains a structured correctional placement. It should not be described as an unrestricted return to the community. The release type, approved address, supervision terms, and destination must be checked together. When arranging pickup, use UDC’s current rules because process details can change independently of the Board’s legal decision.

USCF Release Date Meaning

UDC’s exact public field is “Release Date/Type.” It should not be silently renamed “projected” or “tentative.” A future-facing value is the date and type UDC currently displays, subject to Board action and data updates. Utah state sentences are generally indeterminate, which means the sentence runs within statutory bounds and the Board exercises release authority rather than the trial court fixing one certain exit date.

No general Utah rule requires every state prisoner to serve 85 percent. Board-controlled earned time can apply for specified approved programs, and later orders or contingencies can change the date. Other causes include earned-time forfeiture, rescission, a new sentence calculation, a warrant or violation, placement requirements, and corrected credit data. A scheduled Board hearing is not a release date. A published Board order authorizes action but does not alone prove that the physical exit occurred.

USCF Release Contact Route

The facility address identifies the physical release-processing site. Search and records questions route through the Utah Department of Corrections rather than Daggett County. UDC’s main and Prison Operations numbers can route a correctional inquiry, while the Board confirms its own hearing or decision record. Release-day visitors should rely on the current UDC instructions before travel.

A records request should distinguish the UDC release or discharge record from a Board order and a court judgment. Ask UDC for the actual release date and type, processing facility, destination category if public, and the supervision status that followed. Request the Board’s decision separately if legal authority is needed. The Daggett court clerk holds the originating criminal case, not USCF’s physical exit log.

Verify a USCF Exit

Use at least two sources when release timing matters. Start with the UDC detail and Board order. Then compare the VINE event or direct UDC confirmation. VINE is useful for alerts, yet official sources warn that automated notifications can be delayed, inaccurate, or absent. Keep the time and date of each search and resolve conflicts with the agency that created the record.

The Daggett County release search is the better route when it is unclear whether the person ever entered state custody. A recent Daggett arrest begins with the Sheriff and actual receiving jail, not USCF. Federal or ICE transfer requires federal systems. Only a state sentence, state prison housing, or current UDC supervision makes the UDC search the correct track.
