Daggett Parole and Probation Compared

Parole and probation both place a person in the community under rules, yet they begin in different ways. Parole is conditional release from a Utah state-prison sentence. The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole controls that release within Utah's indeterminate sentencing system, while the Utah Department of Corrections Division of Adult Probation and Parole, known as AP&P, handles community supervision. Probation is imposed by a court. It may begin without a state-prison stay, or it may include limited jail time followed by supervision. Neither status is the same as an unconditional discharge.

That distinction matters in Daggett County because the former county jail is closed. A person arrested in Daggett may be held by another county, while a person sentenced to state prison enters UDC custody. The court case identifies a probation order. Verify Daggett Post-Release Supervision

The current-scope limit is crucial. Someone who finished all UDC supervision may no longer appear. A no-result can also reflect a spelling problem, an identifier mismatch, or the fact that the person was only held in a county jail. It cannot by itself establish discharge. Use the following sequence to test current Daggett County parole or probation without making assumptions.

1. Search UDC by offender number when known, or by the person's full name and documented variants.

Daggett Supervision Routes Through Vernal

Daggett County has no AP&P office within the county. The official UDC directory assigns both Daggett and Uintah Counties to AP&P Region 6 in Vernal. This is the distinctive local route for questions after a UDC search shows probation, parole, a case manager, or another current-supervision field. The office can direct a caller to the proper public process, though staff may not release protected case details.

The Vernal office should not be confused with Uintah County Jail. They are different agencies at different addresses. The jail may hold a booking or physical-exit log for a person actually detained there. AP&P handles community supervision for a person within UDC jurisdiction. Likewise, the closed Daggett County Jail has no present parole office, current population, or release desk. Using the right office avoids treating a jail release as proof that all court and supervision duties ended.

The regional listing supplies contact facts but does not create a public name-by-name office roster. Callers should have a correct name and, if available, a UDC number. They should request the lawful public verification channel rather than personal schedules, residence details, or field-operation information.

Daggett Parole Hearings and Decisions

Utah's Board portal is not a fixed monthly calendar. It has Scheduled Hearings and Decisions views. A person search accepts first and last name, an optional middle name, or an offender number. Date-range searches are limited to seven calendar days, so a longer Daggett County parole review requires adjacent searches with the dates recorded. Hearing results can show date, time, location, offender name and number, final expiration date, and hearing type.

A hearing is not a release. Official hearing types include Original Hearing, Rehearing, Redetermination, Rescission Hearing, Parole Violation Hearing, Paper Review, and Special Attention. The Board may set parole, require more programming, schedule a later review, or rescind a date before release. Utah Code § 77-27-7 addresses the first Board hearing process after commitment. It does not yield a simple arithmetic parole date. Daggett Supervision Conditions and Warrants

Conditions are the rules stated in the person's actual court or Board order. Common Utah examples can involve reporting, approved residence, assessment or treatment, case planning, travel limits, curfew, restitution, fines, or community service. These are examples only. They should not be attributed to a named Daggett County person unless the public order says so. A public case-manager field also does not authorize disclosure of protected supervision details.

An absconder is someone alleged to have stopped reporting or left supervision without permission. UDC says agents may seek a warrant, and fugitive teams may coordinate with other agencies. A warrant reflects an alleged violation process, not a new conviction.

A parole violation can lead to return to prison and a Board hearing. Calling every action “revocation” can misstate the record, and a transfer back to custody is not a new community release.

Daggett Release and Status Alerts

The service can report prison release, escape and return, death, a parole-release-date notice, movement to a county jail, a move between prison sites, or transfer to a community correctional center. Daggett Sheriff's official page links VINE even though the former Daggett jail has no current feed.

Coverage must still be matched to the real custodian. A person arrested in Daggett may be booked elsewhere, and that receiving agency's participation should be checked in the live system. VINE does not prove probation termination. It also does not cover BOP or ICE merely because a case began in Utah. An alert is a prompt to verify, not a durable discharge record.

Registration can be anonymous. Utah's official instructions allow phone and email notices, and telephone registration uses a PIN. Automated event calls repeat until the correct PIN confirms receipt, subject to the service's stated cycle. Technical delay or missing data remains possible. The Board itself warns users to verify status when notification systems conflict.

When Daggett Supervision Ends

Release from a jail or prison does not by itself end parole or probation. Supervision ends through an official termination, expiration, discharge, or other controlling order. For parole, the Board record and UDC documentation are central. For probation, the court docket may show successful termination, extension, revocation, or another order. A court disposition can outlast a live offender-search entry.

A fully discharged person may disappear from UDC's public tool because the system is expressly limited to current UDC incarceration, probation, and parole. That disappearance is not a dated certificate. Ask for the termination or discharge record, and compare it with the court or Board order.
